Right now I’m wrapping up my tour in the US and it just so happens to be as Thanksgiving is ramping up. So, here’s all of my favourites in a Thanksgiving recipe round-up.
If you don’t partake in Thanksgiving, then think of this as a collection of the cosiest, comfiest recipes. Pies, rolls, savouries and sweets, I’ve come to understand that a thanksgiving meal is about generosity (to yourself and to others). That’s something we can all be inspired by.
Over on KP+, I’m sharing a dressed up recipe from SIFT - it’s a chocolate coconut cream pie ft. toasted coconut praline, rich cremeux and a flaky crust. More on that below. Alright, let’s dive in!
Bronwen Wyatt’s Cornbread
Y’all, we lucked out this year with Bronwen Wyatt’s cornbread recipe - you can read all about it, plus how to mimic stoneground cornmeal in this fantastic piece. Click here to make it!
She also shared a smoky poblano and cheddar version which you can find here.
Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie
New for this year, I’ve taken a few of my favourite techniques and recipes from SIFT and worked them into a brand new beautiful pie ft. toasted coconut praline, the smoothest cremeux and my best ever pie crust. Click here to make it.
Triple potato pie
Ok, this recipe has a 10/10 chaos rating, but I can’t help it. It’s a triple potato situation ft. mashed potato in a rösti crust and scalloped potato lid. Trust me, you’ll win potluck if you show up with this. See you there. Click here to make it.
Potato buns
Bread will always be my favourite part of the meal. I’ve got two great recipes for you - a classic super fluffy dinner roll, or level up with the double potato bun, stuffed with bechamel, slowly cooked onions and covered in crispy potatoes, natch. Click here to make it.
The spiced pumpkin buns from my book SIFT would be great, too! Check them out on pg. 175.
Shaved Sprout Salad With Brown Butter Apple Vinaigrette
A killer side dish by Ben Lippett, author of fantastic substack ‘How I Cook’. The smoky pancetta is such a touch but could be omitted if you’re catering for veggies. Click here to make it
Caramel Pear Pie
I’m so proud of this pie recipe - perfect pastry (this newsletter goes deep into pie crust) and wraps it around the most glorious golden filling. Click here to make it.
Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake
An alternative dessert for when you’re all pied out! This is one of the first newsletters I ever shared and it’s still a winner. Click here to make it.
Cheese & Pickle Scones
I’m still learning what biscuits are, but I reckon these would be a jewel in any potluck. The recipe is in my book SIFT, out now, on pg. 183! Get a copy here
Maple Pumpkin Tart
I’ll never be over the tiny maple syrup cradles. This is a rich, custard tart esque tart with a gloriously shiny top. Click here to make it.
P.S. If you’re looking for a more classic pumpkin pie, click here.
Clodagh’s Tarte Tatin
Why make apple pie (ok, we do have a great recipe here by Chloe-Rose Crabtree, chef at the much loved Bake Street, if you’re after a classic) when you could be making Tarte Tatin? This masterclass by Clodagh Manning is the perfect centerpiece for your table. Click here to make it.
Pecan Miso Honey Tart
With chocolate pastry, it’s a sticky salty twist on classic pecan pie. The espresso honey cream is my fave, too. Click here to make it.
French fruit tart
Super simple but satisfying, you can use pretty much any and all fruits for this. Merci Monique. This newsletter is confirmation that French Grandma wisdom > everything. Click here to make it.
Baked Chocolate Tart
I dare-say this is a sophisticated take on a pie - gooey chocolate centre with a super thin crust. You can make it ahead of time, just don’t refrigerate it if you want to remain molten! Click here to make it.
Banana Pudding Pie
I LOVE BANANA PUDDING. My 2025 goal is to make banana pudding happen in the UK. I’ve been going on about it for years, but FINALLY, it’s time. I adore this banana pudding pie from my book SIFT - layers of lady fingers (home made!), caramel, custard and bananas and lots of whipped cream. WHAT A SLICE. Recipe on pg. 248 Get a copy here
Crispy apple custard pie
Looking for a new take on apple pie? This crispy custardy caramelised apple dream pie certainly brings the drama. You can make this ahead of time and re-heat it, too. Don’t forget to serve with lots of custard! OR ice cream, I see you America. Click here to make it.

I'll take a slice of triple potato pie followed by banana pudding and a food coma!
