Just had a conversation with my husband that went something like this:

Me: This banana pudding sounds incredible, maybe I should make it for whilst mum is here

Him: Haven't you already made a load of things?

Me: Well, only some sorbet (2 kinds)... and I am making some ice cream. And there's the cream infusing in the fridge for panna cotta.

Him: She's only here for 4 nights! and we'll eat out for one of them probably! You can't just keep making more!

He might have a point... Maybe just the ladyfingers for with the panna cotta?

Ahhah!! Im so excited about this recipe, I have been craving magnolia’s banana pudding for 2 years! I’m sat in bed doing a mental inventory of my ingredients 😂 For the ladyfingers is the 2 eggs separated the 60g egg whites and40g yolks or is it in addition to the egg whites and yolks? Thanks

Just made this for an American friend who has been SO excited about it ... thumbs up for authenticity from her! She says the biscuits are EXACTLY like Nilla wafers

Hey, so I just made it and can’t wait to eat it!

I did have one problem with the recipe though. I am not sure where I went wrong.

I did not have 250g of the pastry cream to make the creme legere. I had something like 180g from the recipe above. What did I miss?

Love Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding! My son lives in NYC and brought some home a few months ago. They also make a Pumpkin Banana Pudding with ginger snaps in place of the Nila Wafers in the fall that I like even better . They have the recipes on their web site but they call for boxed pudding mix - tastes fine but feels like a cop out. I made the Pumpkin version for my coworkers for US Thanksgiving and it was a big hit.
