Anyone tried this a day in advance? Ie make the batter mix, leave in fridge, then before baking add the boiling water? With a family adding an extra job to Sunday lunch can be a bit much so desserts are always made day before!
As someone who doesn't love warm desserts, but loves banana and soft ones... how big of a crime would it be if I ate this chilled? Would it be dry? I'd obviously help it out with ice or whipped cream.
Am going to try this later today. The only thing that gives me school dinner PTSD is the ‘chocolate custard’ that didn’t taste of chocolate or custard - how did they make it?!
Made this with half the sauce because I don’t actually like it too saucy (sorry) and it turned out amazing! Like others mentioned, I made the 3-4 portions and ate all of it myself in one sitting. Added some dark chocolate chips too. Highly recommended 🤤 thanks for the recipe!!
Thanks for sharing! Had a food coma after eating half of the 600 ml portion with ice cream, no regrets. Also, just wondering, why does the scale of ingredients vary depending on the portion? For example, 200 ml to 300 ml for butter doesn't align with the volume scale of 1.5, but rather scaling by 2. Then I saw that dark brown sugar was a scale of 2.5. My initial train of thought would have been "if I want twice as many portions, I'll just scale all the ingredients by 2."

Delicious! 600ml pan serves 3-4 or 1, in my house.
Just made it, easiest & quickest recipe ever and wow it’s tastes amazing. I added extra Maldon salt on top and it perfectly balanced out the sweetness
