Hey didar, so sorry for the delay! Yes I think the malt chocolate cookies would be fine, and you could pipe then bake the Viennese fingers from frozen. I’m not sure about the gingers - but that mix would be fine in the fridge for a few days!
Hi all, where are you finding malt syrup? is it available in supermarkets? and do you have recs for the best dark chocolate to use in these recipes that isn't toooo spenny? thanks! x
Hiya! I’m so sorry for the delay how did I miss this comment! So, yes I got malt syrup in my local shop, I’m probably quite lucky they have such a big baking selection. You could change for another syrup, like golden, if you can’t find it. And also I rate the waitrose essential range of chocolates! Xxx
Thanks Nicola, I’ve just spent a lovely afternoon making 3 batches of your biscuits. All so delicious so far and how nice to have some new inspiration for Christmas treats. As a Scot, I’m not sure what my mum would have thought about adding burnt sugar to shortbread but I’ll be making some of her traditional recipe as well as it wouldn’t be Christmas without granny’s shortbread.
Hiya! Yes definitely. Hand mixer with beaters - do you have one of those? The oat biscuits and chocolate cookies you can make without a mixer, just stir together xx
hi nicola, i've been doing a deep dive in your cookie/biscuit/shortbread/sable posts and as someone who is often confused by definitions, what would you say is tge difference between all these terms? is a sable a biscuit? or a cookie? are cookies and biscuits the same? is shortbread a whole new category?? isn't sable a French shortbread? HELP
Hey Nicola! Are any of these suitable to pre-make and freeze for a few days before baking?

Thank you for your kind words! Please will you send me a pic of your granny’s shortbread when you’ve made it? Either on instagram or email! 😍
Hi Nicola, thank you for this ! Do you think it's easy to make without kitchen aid ?

Heya Nicola,
The ginger oaty biscuits sounds amazing but would it be possible to omit the crystallised ginger? Thanks
Can't wait to try my hand at these... Looking to level up the family Christmas cookie selection.
