One of my favourite things about making this newsletter is when guest writers join to share their expertise - may I just say how excited I am to be sharing a recipe for pickled quince from Fiona Cranston aka Cranston Pickles - I love her work and I’m excited to share her recipe below. Pickled Quince
by Fiona Cranston aka Cranston Pickles
Quinces are an underrated local fruit in my pickle opinion. They are a picture perfect fruit and a lovely yellow (which is always a plus in my opinion). There are more local trees around you than you might think too - so if you ever see some then be sure to (ask to, we are polite pickles always), pick some and have a play around with them at home! People often don’t know what to do with this special gal - so I find in my experience, people are more than happy to trade a few for a jar of what you make!
Quinces also have the most gorgeous aroma! So keep them out of the fridge prior to pickling and they will fill your kitchen with Quince heaven!
