We live in a small village in southern Spain. Allegedly, of of the men who came up with the idea bought a house in the village in the 70s. It’s now owned by the sons and let out for holiday makers. The same chap also had running water and electricity brought to the village. He was a busy guy.
Thanks for the recipe. Please can you help with a query? There is no quantity given for the Irish whiskey. If the recipe makes 375ml of Irish Cream, and its final ABV should be 17%, my back-of-an-envelope maths suggests this equates to just shy of 160ml of whiskey at 40% ABV. Does this sound about right? Many thanks for your help.

Years ago I met a woman whose tipple of voice was Baileys mixed with brandy. Kind of festive but you wouldn’t want more than one…

Thank you for catching that omission! Yes, your calculation was right; 155g of whiskey is what’s called for. Sorry about that.
No problem, and many thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure if that was rather a lot, or if my maths actually made sense!
Perfect sense. Cheers!
I never really thought of Baileys as having any chocolate taste at all!
(Thanks for the recipe)
There's verrrrrry little chocolate in it!
As you discovered. ;) (I liked the recipe iterations going down by half each time)
Huh. I always thought Baileys had a bit of coffee in it!
It’s a common misconception! There is a flavored version called Baileys Coffee, though.
That’s the fancy version. A really nice easy alternative:
1 2/3 C Irish whiskey(my fav is proper 12)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream(or half amd half if you dont want it too heavy)
1 t instant coffee
2 T chocolate syrup
